Courtney was raised by her parents throughout the various stages of their divorce, when she was seven years old. Jennifer is her older sister is employed in the field of advertising. She completed her degree in 1985 at Tamalpais High School, Mill Valley California. She also performed with Ensemble Theater Company Mill Valley during her time as a high-school student.
